Outline Itinerary:

Day 1: Arrival
Fly into Keflavik Airport, where you will be met on arrival and transferred in just minutes to your accommodation.  Depending on your flight arrival time, you may like to head straight for the Blue Lagoon for a soak in its wonderful mineral-rich geothermal water.

Day 2: Volcano Tour
Take a full day guided jeep safari to explore the volcanic landscapes of Reykjanes, including lava flows, crater rows, fissures, geothermal fields and lava caves – optional cave exploration, with equipment provided.  Another chance to visit the Blue Lagoon. 

Day 3: Choice of Excursions or  Car Hire
In the the morning you have the option to join the Salty Tour for a fascinating insight into local life and history in the company of local fisherman, who will guide you around the thriving fishing town of Grindavík.  The afternoon gives you a further choice of optional excursion -  an exciting quad bike adventure into the mountainous interior of the peninsula or along the coast OR a guided cycle ride along the coast to see lighthouses, shipwrecks and the abundant bird life of the peninsula.  Alternatively you can opt to hire a car for the day and explore independently – Thingvellir National Park, Gullfoss Falls and the Geysir geothermal area combine to offer an exciting day of further exploration, while on the doorstep the Power Plant Earth, Saltfish Exhibition, Garður Folk Museum, and Viking Ship attraction will keep you busy. 
 

Day 4: Return Flight
Depending on your flight time, you may have time for one of the optional excursions before your transfer to the airport.
