-1,
From Keflavík Airport or Reykjavík drive on road 41 and then turn on road 42 - Krýsuvíkurvegur.
Including: Seltún, Kleifarvatn, Grænavatn, Grindavík and many more.
Time: Really depends on how the long you stop but only the drive is estimated to be about 3 hours.
These places are apart of Reykjanesfólkvangur National Park
First stop is the mysterious lake Kleifarvatn surrounded by black sands is located in the Park as well. If you want to try trout fishing, permits are sold at the N1 Petrol/Gas Station in the town of Hafnarfjörður.
At Seltún you will be rewarded with a fascinating lunar landscape surrounding the spectacular hot mud springs.
From Seltún there is a popular walking path Ketilstígur you can walk through Sveifluháls it takes about 2-3 hours but the view is amazing!
After that you can continue driving and not far away from Seltún is lake Grænavatn. It is nice to walk around and take photos.
Biggest bird cliff in the area is Krýsuvíkurberg below road 427.
There is a interesting rock formation just above road 427, Drykkjarsteinn. It is a stone with three holes.
Next to Drykkjarsteinn there is Festarfjall, a volcanic mountain just below the road 427.
In Grindavík we recommend to dine at Salthúsið, they are specialists in cod. Also to do some activites in the beautiful nature like the ATV tours.
It is ideal to end this trip in the Blue Lagoon were you can soak and relax after all the walking and driving and if you didn't choose Salthúsið they also have tasty menu on their restaurant Lava.
We hope you enjoy Reykjanes! and remember to tag your photos #Reykjanes
