The Reykjanes Maritime Center was opened on May 11 2002 and is home to a collection of 100 model boats built by retired local skipper Grímur Karlsson. Hand-crafted to a high degree of perfection and painstaking detail, they offer a fascinating insight into Iceland?s maritime history, beginning with the graceful masted schooners of the mid- and later 19th century, and ending with the steam and diesel-powered trawlers of the 20th century.

Open weekdays 12:00-17:00, weekends 13:00-17:00. Free admission
